Motion, an introductory studio at UCLA led by media artists Refik Anadol and Hirad Sab, teaches the basic concepts and tools for the design of moving images. Prompted to explore the distinct behavior of and interaction between two shapes—a circle and a line—I thought about the defining boundaries of each shape. What makes a circle a circle and different than a line? If we really think about, a circle may be seen as a line that is infinite, and a line may as well be an extremely close up view of a circle. This supposed dichotomy between the two served as inspiration for this work.
